Golden Gate Canyon State Park
Harmsen Ranch guest house located in Golden Gate Canyon State Park is the perfect place for horse families and friends to camp with their horses. With 35 miles of multi-use trails available for riding or hiking and 5 ponds for fishing, there is fun for everyone. The newly remodeled ranch style house sleeps eight. There are four bedrooms with double beds, one of which is a master bedroom with master bath. Other amenities include: 3/4 bath, full kitchen, 2 fire places, gas grill and mini heating stoves in each room. There are 2 electrical RV sites if your party is larger than eight. There are 2 corrals with fresh water and shelter for the horses. Access to the trail system is right out your front door!

San Juan National Forest
The Dolores Ranger District has three campsites available for horse camping. The Burro Bridge campground offers a horse corral next to 14 campsites, with a trail leading into the wilderness area. The Transfer campground also offers a horse corral adjacent to 5 of the campsites, with trails in all directions from the campground. The Target Tree campground (opening spring '06) will be offering camping with horses, water tank only (no corral), with a trail from the campground for horseback riding.

The Royal Gorge Bridge and Park partnered with Watt Mule Company, LLC is now offering over 2500 rustic acres for equestrians to enjoy from the backs of their own horses, mules, and donkeys at the Royal Gorge South Equestrian Park Camp and Trails located on the south Rim of the Royal Gorge near Canon City, Colorado. The Equestrian Camp and Trails are open to the equestrian public from May 1st - September 15th. The noble beauty of the Royal Gorge provides an ideal stage for trail-rides, offering exciting terrain, magnificent panoramas, elegant wildlife, and splendid weather. From the back of your mount you will be able to see vistas of the Royal Gorge that no one else ever sees. The views also include beautiful mountain ranges, rock formations, pine forests, and possibly a bear or wildcat! Our primitive campsite offers potable water, porta-potties, campfire pits, and pens for equines. We allow well controlled pets at our park. Exclusively for our guests, we have discounted rates for the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park admissions and half day or full day white water rafting trips through the Royal Gorge on the Arkansas river with Echo Canyon River Expeditions, Colorado's largest white water rafting company.
We also offer to individuals, families, and groups that do not have or cannot bring their own mules or horses a custom designed vacation package that includes riding at the Royal Gorge South Equestrian Park with a guide and mules, a reduced Royal Gorge Admission rate, and a reduced rate White Water Rafting Trip through the Royal Gorge with Echo Canyon River Expeditions.
